Just moved and got a new setup and tried streaming today. Everything seems to be working fine! Unfortunately, there was a problem with my recording and no VOD was saved. I looked at the script and hopefully fixed it. I'm going to be streaming a bit this upcoming week as a practice, but I'm trying to make my routine streaming time as Saturdays at 18:00 UTC (instead of Sundays like it has been). Of course, this won't be the case on weeks where I have a CyTube or Heyuri does at the same time. In that case, maybe I would push it to the next day (Sunday).

One reason I want to do this is to reduce overlap with Deluoode Otaku Oratory, which has now changed to every Sunday at 19:00 UTC, whereas before it was 21:00 UTC.

Quick update:

I have now set up my Owncast instance to archive my VODs on Archive.org automatically. Hope you can join for the next stream (sometime in the next few days probably). The Archive.org collection is HERE, but is empty until I have an official stream. This has a couple great benefits:

1. It frees up space and demands on my server, hopefully preventing TLS handshake issues (only thing I can think of that might have caused this the other day, unless it was something totally out of my control). If the issue persists, I might try to do the same thing with some of my self-hosted videos that are more resource-intensive, but I really don't think they should be much of a problem.

2. It allows me to have a place to keep VODs indefinitely. That said, while Archive.org tends to be incredibly based for the most part, some VODs of games with more H scenes will probably be deleted, because based on the very rudimentary research I've done, Archive.org seems to not allow pornographic content. But maybe someone with more experience can offer some insight. Is there a way to just tag it as NSFW? Do they freak out at even a second of a nipple or does it have to be hours of straight fucking? What exactly are the standards here? I guess questions about copyrighted music, etc. are worth answering here as well.

3. Saves me tons of time manually editing and rsync-ing my stream.html page! Which means more time to spend on what's really important: drawing cute girls and making Byakuren my bitch in UFO!


On a side note, the forum has been pretty quiet the past week or two. I have a full-time job now and when I get off I find myself mostly wanting to stream to unwind. I've had thoughts about the forum and what would happen if people stopped posting entirely and I don't think I would ever delete it. But I'm already a close associate of Deluoode BBS. if it just becomes not worth it to have this forum around as anything but an archive, I would just encourage everyone to hop over there because it will be my forum home in that case. So maybe I'll make a thread about this: What do people want out of the forum? What would make it a more appealing place to hang out? What would be lost if we had a mass exodus to Deluoode and combined our two tiny forums' powers? Or would it disrupt the culture of Deluoode too much? (Teh chosen people of Oppai Oracle finding their land without a people! ) Something I've thought of, but I'm not saying I'm going to pull the plug on anything (now or even in the long term, probably). I like my site being kind of a crossroads of several internet communities I really like: Deluoode, Heyuri, LRS/drummysphere, and Singularity Waiting Room. So I think it has value in bringing these together that if nothing else.

its not the same crowd, i see none of the LRS people on deluoode and its kinda hard to register when you haven't played steins;gate (it is a secret but i had my friend zen help me cheat on the anti-bot question)
