Not much up here

one of the few (and hopefully only, i only brought these when i was on a consumerist thing) figures i have was one of shinobu figures, the one with her in a sexy sundress and heels

i've always like the attention to detail (read: panties) in all of these figures. i remember the last time i looked for a figure on ebay and one of the first images of another shinobu one was just an upshot of her dress.

right now there's only a near naked illya figure i have with a broken stand, flimsy build quality methinks. if i could go back and change my buying choice, i'd probably get a faputa figure instead, because i honestly don't care for fate or her design/(body) figure.

However となりのモケイフェスティバル9 / tonamo9 is over!
It's a two day garage kit festival. The first day has in-person sales and exhibits, and the second day has sales online. (via booth.pm.)

There's many beautiful figures, but I wanted to show the few that caught my eye.

Yuyuko Saigyouji and Suika Ibuki by chamber. Their Touhou-related work is gorgeous!

I ended up ordering myself a kit of a game I hold very dear to my heart. It got pretty popular right before sales, so I got put in a waitroom while checking out, and I had to keep refreshing to make sure it didn't sell out... I'm very lucky to have secured an order.
(then I found out they planned on rereleasing it twice. I feel very stupid. Reminder to never fall for FOMO!)

The developers of NGO loves to reference other works, in the base game one of the endings references Galaxy Express 999: Eternal Fantasy, another references Space Runaway Ideon.



This specific figure is based off of the Petit Game Collection Vol.1, a series of spinoff minigames. You can see the more obvious style references in the screenshots of an absolutely sexy minigame based on Breakout, where breaking a block slowly strips her



The Rumiko Takahashi influence especially bleeds through here.

I’m very excited to assemble this. I really want to start using airbrushes soon for my “nicer” kits. Maybe I’ll document that here.

where do you get garage kiit2?? ii have been lookiing for thii2 one for quiite 2ome tiime wiith no 2uce22,, ii want two make iit for a friiend of miine.. iit ii2 prolly pretty rare and ii have 2een iit ii2 kiinda legendary wiithiin the haiibane renmeii comuniity on tumblr at lea2t.. iidk the fiir2t thiing about garage kiit2 though..

I almost always purchase on booth.pm, or from secondhand sites like Yahoo Japan Auctions or JP Mercari. I just search "Garage Kit" (ガレージキット), the Show, or both, then scroll until there's something I like for a fair price on all sites. If you're hunting for a specific kit, adding the event it was sold at helps too. I often add WF+Year+Season, TFO, or Tonamo because that way, I can filter my searches.

In the case of booth, I almost always buy during events such as the recent tonamo9 festival, because on those days one day licenses are issues, so you're able to get kits that normally don't have much merchandise of them made. The Lain was an exception due to me following the sculptor, and being able to instantly preorder it when it was announced. Otherwise, Treasure Festa is a common way to get garage kits (hosted 3?4? times a year?)
Wonder Festival is the best way, they recently started hosting them in the US (2026 was in Atlanta), but there's been licensing issues related to it so far.
All Other Wonder Festivals are (usually) in person, single day events in Japan excluding the occasional WF Shanghai. You'd probably have to go in person, but it's very worth it. Many sculptors don't even post their works, so it's the only way to see truly exclusive stuff. I'll be going this year for Summer!

I think the garage kit you posted is by Sugawara/Roughness. Doing a search results in that and the style seems to match up. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find older Garage kits from popular series. They're usually scalped very badly, very rare, and the market is full of counterfeits, if you're someone who wants authentic GKs. You'd probably want to search 灰羽連盟 and/or 落下, and pray.

I just got notified that two older Houseki no Kuni garage kits are getting resales! This is huge for HnK fans, since we don’t have much official merchandise (lol) and most existing merchandise is very, very expensive




Both are sculpted by @daashimen on Twitter. I believe it’s been at least 6 years since either kit was sold, so this is very exciting.

In the meantime… I found that I saved a sculptor’s WIP of a lucky star kit. I do not remember who I saved it from, and it’s been driving me crazy….
If anyone has a clue, let me know.

The most popular counterfeiting sites are https://www.e2046.com and https://www.shop2000.com.tw/GK-M , there’s more out there but a lot of shops have resin quality issues (resin melting, being brittle, etc), and these two shops have a record of decent quality.

Looking at E2046, it seems they sold Rakka garage kits at some point but don’t anymore.
