Re: Positive results of vidya

Certainly there are many benefits, with the caveat of "healthy balance" with other activities. For me for example what I know of English I owe practically all to games (and the fact that I was lazy and didn't care about story in games so I never used localization mods). Besides that my whole life ...

Re: Your neurotic/autistic/weird habits

I sometimes have this because I might have a minor form of OCD (as if my OP here wasn't enough of a proof lmao), but not to an extreme degree.

I do imagine this stuff is quite common. It might be good to live in a world where people were more open about this sort of thing.

Re: Lesser known/underrated/obscure documentaries

it's basically the exact kind of weird "this belongs right on nighttime Adult Swim" stuff i enjoy, like Alan Resnick's kooky movie projects (sidenote, if you ever want to watch a weird-ass and occasionally disturbing webseries, look up AlanTutorial on YT).

Re: What is your religion and why?

I was a complete atheist for the vast majority of my life, and have only really started getting into more "spiritual" stuff recently, and am very novice in that regard. I'm currently attracted to Buddhism for similar reasons to you in terms of testing the faith and the benefit of meditation. I'm ...

Re: Meditation and Buddhist Practice

Let me repost what I said on another site :

Overview of meditation:

There are heaps of scientific evidence that meditation has physical and mental health benefits. This is a thread for discussing meditation as a hobby.

I encourage everyone to try meditating for at least 10 minutes a day ...

Re: /lang/ - Language General

Thank you, I wonder if we can find someone without inner monologue, would be neat.

I'm not exactly sure what counts as an "inner monologue" because I've heard it described very differently by different people. For some, they describe an inner monologue as an endless stream of words in the ...

I am surprised to see someone else who appreciates Lisa the Pointless :D . I would go as far as to say that it's better than Painful. What clicked for you in Pointless?

I am also pleasantly surprised! I think I agree about enjoying it more than Painful, but I'm waiting for MU to really make ...

Re: Random, Miscellaneous, Anything Else

I've read somewhere that it is an incorrect popular belief that when they crucified Jesus, they put the nails through his palms, which doesn't work, and instead the nails had to go through the forearm, and the erroneous beliefs stems from a loss in translation -- in ancient Greek the term for hand ...
