I started playing a VN recently which had a built-in screensaver you could download! It was a nice reminder of back when screensavers existed. They are pretty out of date now and really they aren't suckless or minimal... but sometimes they can be nice. Do you know any good ones?
Of course, I have the most nostalgia for the 3d Pipes. I remember watching it for upwards of an hour or two with childhood friends! We really were easily amused back then.
Screensavers to me were a sign of tech corporations having a slightly more human face back in the day. While they are "out of date" I guess, it's another thing that's disappeared and made systems feel even more soulless and cold.

Re: Screensavers
For me it was most definitely 3D Maze. Anything 3D fascinated me beyond describable and my computer had no 3D games or Internet or even CD drive to easily get games, so I'd spend hours drawing 3D game mockups in MS paint with only 16 colors (attaching proof), I was genuinely obsessed. 3D Maze was the only 3D experience I'd get on my computer. But the best thing was (and it blew my mind when I found out) that you could put in your own textures for the walls. It was like the most primitive form of "modding" or "gamedev" you can imagine, but so huge to me at the time.
