Yesterday I watched Night on Earth (1991), loved it a lot. It's an anthology of several stories, all taking place in taxi cabs In the US and Europe, each in the languages of the respective country (USA, France, Italy and Finland). The stories are a mix of seriously hilarious but also wholesome and deeper on some levels, plus (again) I really appreciate when the director manages to pull this off in the constraints of a small space of a car, basically just with dialogues. With movies it's like with food, it's best if it combines opposite flavors like sweet and bitter, comedy and tragedy, funny and serious and so on. For the record: I do not automatically love any kind of bottle movie or one shot movie :D I also watched Fermat's Room and despite its cool premise I didn't like it very much.
It's a cool movie. I haven't watched it in ages. My favorite movie by Jarmusch is definitely Dead Man, which is a really cool "western" that is stripped down and feels very gothic and weird. Stranger Than Paradise is also fun.

just watched my first kamen rider, kamen rider zo! it was fun looking at all of the practical effects and wondering how they did it as i watched the movie. my favourite monster is the spider woman, the stop motion really made it look like the characters were in another world (although rider also being in choppy stop motion in order to fight her suspended my disbelief LOL, but what can you do). spoilers from here. the movie was too short for its own good (being ~50 minutes). the movie focused more on the fight scenes rather than the plot, but that just caused me to not be invested in the characters. for example they should've cut out hiroshi's sister and her dojo; we never got to see how she feels about her father's disappearance, or even a bond between her and her brother. was her inclusion all just for the cool sparring scene at the start? the theme that everyone is human despite their evil actions and it's not a sin to love their good parts is really interesting, i wish they went into it more. for what it wanted to do though, it was a really fun movie. i laughed at the end when literally EVERYTHING exploded

Senrei aka Baptism of Blood (Yoshihara Ken'ichi, 1996)

Based on an Umezu Kazuo horror story apparently. Really cool Japanese horror story from the old days. I'm not sure if it was made for TV, but it kind of looks like it. Absolutely killer brain drilling scene!
