"Lost" media thread

Are there any old movies, TV shows, games, or the like that you remember experiencing but have never been able to identify? Or, alternatively, remember the identity of but just haven't been able to find again to re-experience? This forum can't do the detective work of something like the Lost Media Wiki but I'm more just curious what other people here are haunted by.

I remember some TV show I saw once or twice as a kid. It couldn't have been later than 2000, but probably closer to 1998-1999 when I was 5-6. I only saw it when I was up REALLY early, when it was still a bit dark outside. I think the channel was PBS or something like that, but maybe it was local access. The show was for kids, I'm pretty sure. It was live action and looked like Sesame Street or something. It was about a Sasquatch-like creature who lived in a cave. Maybe he was a caveman or a troll or something. In any case, he was ugly and big and crude. He was played by a guy in a suit. He was apparently mean and would attack/eat humans, but a little girl had befriended him and would come visit the cave, teaching him about her world (and I guess, by proxy, the kids watching). She was played by a real little girl. I remember the big monster guy liking to eat gross stuff like slugs. One episode had him greet the girl and express his frustration/disappointment by saying "There were only two slugs under the table for me to eat this morning!" or something like that.

I posted an article about the most substantial example of this on my site. I might have to extend this and post multiple of these because there are probably a few more I would like to find again if I thought about it.

Are you talking about The Slow Norris?

It was all puppets if I remember correctly (at least the Norris and the girl were) but otherwise it matches up pretty well.
And it's the sort of detail you might misremember if you saw it when you were 5

At times I get obsessed with these and have a nice little story.

The Story: When we got our first computer in like 1997 (I was 7 years old), we used to play some sort of game that was really a collection of several games such as a "city bombing" minigame, some sort of cannon battle and one weird game with a yellow submarine wherein I think the literal melody of Yellow Submarine was playing. I was searching for this for years and years as an adult, spent countless hours without any results, despite having some additional shards of memories from my brothers and parents who remembered it also. I went as far as to consider finding a guy who I haven't seen for like 20 years but who was at the time dating my aunt for a while and was really good at the game, with the hopes that he'd remember what the game was called. Anyway, one day my brother found an old harddrive somewhere and extracted some partially readable Windows 3.1 files and I went to dig through them. I found some system log that recorded the latest run programs and among them something called "gamebox.exe". I searched for that and indeed, it was the game I was looking for Was quite happy that after all those years I can now die in peace. Turns out it was some obscure Czech game collection, which is why it was hard to find.

What I'm looking for:

• A horror movie that I vaguely remember was about a (blonde?) woman who's somewhere in a house by a lake and her neighbor, who seems nice at first, turns out to be a murderer or something and he starts to chase her around the house, BUT -- and this is the main plot twist -- it turns out the neighbor is actually TWO guys who are identical twins. I'm not sure but I think it might even have been a remake of an older movie. I have found that LLMs are quite excellent at identifying "lost media" like these, but here somehow none has been able to give me an answer. This is where I used to play and have a lot of memories from, but as a retard I somehow wiped my old HDD with all the tons of screenshots I had. This is something I've been now searching for for years, and miraculously I have been able to find two YouTube videos of one city raid, in like 360p, where I can see a few pixels that I have identified as my character. I have also been blessed when my brother found our old harddrives that didn't have all the screenshots, but by some crazy coincidence I found exactly 2 (!) screenshots among some random files there, plus I dug out 3 screenshots from my friend by sifting through decades old emails. HOLY FUCK, THIS MUST HAVE BEEN IT! My memory of it was indeed a bit distorted. But I don't know what else it could be. Apparently it was broadcast on PBS in the US from 1997 to 2000, which would have been the exact time I'm thinking of.

That sucks. I am missing a lot of these old "animutation" Flash animations. Some of them are ones that I made and don't have anymore, but honestly I'm glad these don't exist anymore because they would embarrass me too much lmao. Every other one being lost is a tragedy, except for me personally haha.

A bit uncanny, honestly

I guess it is a bit, but this show is basically how I learned English when I was 4~5 since I would just watch old VHS tapes at my grandparents' summer cottage over and over. I have no idea why they even had them, but maybe I have the Slow Norris to thank for my English skills today (I have pretty much lost the accent now, but I used to talk like Allie (the girl in the show) when I was younger, which was a bit bizarre).

Seeing you suddenly try to describe the show based on your memories was more uncanny to me
