I had a somewhat longer post summarizing my experience hosting pretty controversial content but somehow I nuked it But I realized I was just rewriting what I've already written in the past here.

I'm not a shill, it's genuinely by far the BEST and absolutely the CHEAPEST, literally nearly gratis hosting. It has a minimal interface, just werks, allows everything including porn (they only take down illegal stuff after actual legal action AFAIK) and costs like $0.01/day or something (depends on your resource usage, all I know is I deposited like $5 and have been up for years lmao). It's not a VPS, so no game servers or stuff like that, but it DOES have PHP, so you can host even dynamic sites like forums and image boards. In the US you can pay by sending checks. You get a subdomain if you don't have your own domain. Literally the most miraculous hosting I've ever seen, nothing else even comes close. If you do things right (make website minimal as fuck, use third party sites like WM commons and Vidlii to host videos if you need etc.) you can run awesome online empires for almost 0 $$$.

Then there is the option to host at home on your Raspberry Pi, I've been doing that too and can recommend, you can do literally what you want. Again: RPI = low electricity consumption, tiny website = no need for bandwidth, do shit right and you don't need a small Hollywood budget to run your website.

I was wondering if I should turn the main page of my site into a personal site. Right now it's really only my stream and the homepage links to my offsite hyperspecific AI-related blog but I don't really have motivation to make posts on it. I actually bought the domain back in 2020 and the idea was to host that blog but it's not even on the site itself and now AI is this big controversial thing so the average person probably won't find it that interesting anymore... eh I dunno

I had a personal site way back in 2017 but it was just a small "about me" for people who came from my Youtube channel and then had links to some sites of people I knew (like landsofgames.com which is still up) so it's kind of a been-there-done-that sort of thing and I don't really have a backlog site where I rate games/movies/whatever like you guys to offload it to. So it would basically just be a self-indulgent personal wiki sort of site if I make one. What do you guys think?

Can't hurt! What kind of thing would you be interested in or excited to contribute towards? That's what I would say should drive you.

I created some polls to link to my site. I wasn't able to set them up on my site proper, so I bit the bullet and made a StrawPoll account. It will be useful for CyTube etc. in the future as well. But I'm using these polls to help me decide what books to read next and what games to play next. Vote for whichever ones you would like me to touch. You don't have to have read/played it either. You can vote just because you're curious about the title. Of course, I don't have as much time for them as I used to unfortunately... but maybe this will be a good motivator!

Neocities now requires a verification code sent to the email whenever I try to login with Tor.

Though there is no problem using the API with Tor. I just have one more reason not to use the webpage.
