Amlux, it blew my mind that you don't remember any dreams where you fly, I thought this was literally the most common experience in dreams and it's also the most enjoyable (even compared to the sex dreams). My dad told me he usually flies in his dreams as well. Since I share a lot of similar dreams with my family members I wonder how significant a part genetics plays in this? Or is it our environment?
Me neither. :)

I don't use that much of supernatural forces in my dreams.

I'd have to think about it more closely but I suppose it depends what you mean by flying. I can't think of one where I'm flying like a bird necessarily. But I have had dream sensations where I am sort of jumping extremely high, or falling slowly from a great height after being propelled. Kind of like the Scroll of Icarian Flight in Morrowind, haha. But they weren't pleasant experiences. They felt very scary because I was bracing for impact and expecting to be hurt upon collision with the ground. In fact, sometimes these are the cases where I wake up slightly before the lethal collision. But sometimes I do land relatively unscathed.

I have to think of what supernatural forces I've been able to use in dreams. None immediately stick out, except for a few times I've become lucid in a dream all of a sudden and tried to conjure sexy girls to fuck before waking up (of course). A few dreams I've also been talking to people and had dialogue options come up to choose like in a visual novel or RPG, haha.

I voted yes but its only like half the time that I'm certain that I have dreamt of something. Its uncommon to vividly remember something in a dream and its usually something crazy. Some have impacts on me for the day like me being bewildered of the dream I had or me crying. The last time something bizarre happened was a few months ago when the world was getting attacked by some weird supernatural force. Sometimes I wake up in relief because I was in deep shit or that I died. I think only once did I realize that I was dreaming but the awareness only lasted a moment.

But yeah I should try and journal dreams, I only remember the world attack because I messaged someone about it when it happened and looked back at it.

Also fever dreams are the fucking worst.

  • An alternative version of the area I live in; for example there's an IRL highway nearby my place and in my dreams it's really a TrackMania track that even has a loop to drive through. There are also new villages that aren't there IRL, some quite bizarre because, for example, they're really small but still have skyscrapers. My brother told me he has this also and apparently his "dream world" is even much richer and more consistent than mine.
speaking of alternate versions of Reality, I fondly remember an alternate version of my mom's house that had a whole extra section that doesn't exist IRL (not sure if this memory come from a dream or something else)

That area is supposed to be on the left side of the house, consist of a big library with beautiful, well varnished old wooden furniture, that's a big area with two floors and there are rooms upstairs (at least one room I'm pretty sure i wanted to make it my bedroom)

I think the idea of the extra rooms feel really appealing to me because I feel cramped in my current apartment, I want to believe those rooms actually exist in another plane of existence

---

I didn't know the "Exploding head syndrome" had a name, for me it just seem like a normal part of falling asleep, my current theory is that it happens because we start to desync from the physical reality and start perceiving stuff from somewhere else, I think i experienced something similar once I was falling asleep and got waken up by a loud AAAAA in my ear (like someone yelling), it was quite a funny event for me I took it as le funny prank from some random ghost or something

I don't remember any other times when this happened but maybe it did, just not in a loud memorable way

I also noticed sometimes that at some point when you're falling asleep the music in your head start to become real, like its coming from HDMI 1 instead of HDMI 2*

* I call HDMI 1 the canvas where you perceive actual reality (data from your actual eyes & physical senses, dreams) and HDMI 2 where you generate your own images (visualization, memory recalling, voices in your head) I feel like it is a good analogy

Kek, made me laugh. Maybe exploding head is like the tiny explosion you hear when you abruptly pull the jack from an amplifier, like a signal spike when you switch too quickly between HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 in your words

However if it's more like screaming I believe it may rather be sleep paralysis? That's how it manifests in me. Ultimately though I think exploding head IS something like sleep paralysis, just extremely fast, so it sounds like literal explosion.

Today I had a dream wherein I visited a nearby city and it was different from IRL in that instead of a river flowing by the city there was a hill covered with a forest and I was like "hey, I've never actually been there, let's go have a look" and it was quite amazing in there. I found there was a small camp on the top and there was a small building where for some reason my university advisor was giving a very advanced lecture on computer graphics to small kids. Looking out the windows I could see spectacular views, but I realized that it wasn't an actual window showing the city below, but rather some kind of hologram portraying some naval battle scenes or something. There were also computers and they had borderline CP on them for some reason. I asked one small boy how he's so good with computers at such a young age and for some reason he started to tell me how he was molested by his grandpa.

if you find yourself in a dream but struggle to bend the world to your will, the trick is to make the paranormal shit happen outside of your field of view

sometimes I just turn around expecting a door to be there and the door is there, I sometimes do that when I know i'm in a dream and just try to go through as many areas as possible, I think that's because I'm trying to run away from the dream or something, outrun reality and run off the world

It's nearly midnight and I can still remember the dream that I had today. It had that feeling of realness and all I can recall is that I suddenly appeared at the school I used to go to and felt really confused and embarrassed as to why I was there. After that I was in a car that was driving on absurdly steep roads which were covered with autumn leaves. Thats all I can remember, my dreams are weird.

Funny, I had a school dream today as well, and it was combined with the "looking for toilet" theme. I was at my elementary school again and it was just a break between classes. I really needed to go for number 2, so I went to boy's toilets and the only functioning stall there was occupied. So I tried another toilet but unfortunately it was girl's toilet and I got yelled at. I tried another one but it was for the disabled and a police woman kicked me out. This started to stress me out as I got worried I won't make it till the end of the break. I went to another floor and all toilets were under maintenance. So I went to the lowest floor and all toilets were broken there too. Here I was like: "Bro, it's illegal for school to have no functioning toilets! Fuck it, let me just go home, why am I even at the school anyway? I already finished it, I don't have to be here." I stormed out of the school building and started to run on all four REAL fast -- in fact I was jumping so far I was practically flying. I remember being able to air control and curve my jump mid flight like in Xonotic. Then I woke up and went take a shit for real.
