I haven't heard of novusolus. What kind of guy is he and what attention do you think it might bring? I don't plan on sticking around on xitter and seeing what users there are saying. I do get somewhat uneasy about attention from mainstream sites, but I suppose the potential effects all depends on who the person sharing it is and what kind of audience they have.
Avelum is an S tier account and I like him, I'm not sure what you mean by attention, but I imagine all sorts of rw twitter people follow him, he doesn't have a clique per se anymore.

I miss not being a wagecuck. :crym:

Although suddenly now simple things like video games take on such a different thrill after having worked a full day. It's a strange balance. I just hope I have the energy to stream them soon.

I'm very late for my question but should hosting files on a 3rd party like Catbox be a concern? A majority of posts with media attached with them are on Catbox and others which should be okay for now but what if it suffers a fate like https://pomf.lain.la? I think everyone should resize and optimize files so you can upload them here, for longevity purposes.

I don't think one needs to upload everything, but I agree with the direction. It would be good to diversify the hosts at least.

longevity aside, embedding images from other websites allow them to track users here, thats a concern almost nobody seem to speak about but if I were to attach an image here hosted on my own website i could easily enough get the IP addresses of everyone watching this page as well as a few other metadata

thats why on my own website I never link an external resource, I used to have an imood.com thing and the way I linked it was that I proxied the request through my own server

you can guess what I think about that big timeanddate.com iframe currently on every page of the forum that could easily be replaced by like, five lines of javascript or something

My server goes offline randomly, especially when the weather is very hot, I consider it a feature :ase: The solar powered website has the same feature but reversed (goes offline without the sun). BTW I was drunk yesterday, I'll remove the link to virus.png in case anyone had serious concerns I'd really want to track people :D

where's your server anyway ? i always assumed it was some kind of shitbox hidden at your parents house or something, do they just turn off the shitbox when its making too much heat or what happens ?

anyway if you caught an IP from AS41114 in your logs that was probably me

It is Raspberry Pi 5 at my parents' house, I also have the nearlyfreespeech server for my web which is more reliable. RPI doesn't really heat up, it's not power hungry at all, parents may not even be entirely aware I have a server running nonstop, I doubt they'd even fully understand what it is :ase: It's just a tiny box without any keyboard or monitor and it's buried somewhere under a table. The server itself is fine but my ISP is shit and the net just randomly stops working, but I swear it is connected to high temperatures outside. Sometimes there are also power outages, but I'm not a corporation that needs 100% uptime so I even welcome these, it's crazy to depend on internet connection as if it was oxygen. And don't worry, I never check access logs. I did it once and all I found was millions of bots spamming me from Korea or something like that.
