What browser(s) and extensions do you use?

Browsers... They all suck, pretty much. Some just suck less than others.

I use LibreWolf. It's fine. It's just Firefox with a lot of improved privacy features (and I don't have to look at the shitty nu-Firefox simplified logo, which is a plus). Even then, I have a lot of exceptions to stay logged in on certain sites, so I don't even take full advantage of the "keeps you logged out" feature, which is INTENTIONALLY "inconvenient," because too many sites these days constantly keep you logged in as a way of maximizing attention/spying. I sometimes use Chromium for certain niche cases where I need a Chrome-based browser. The only thing I don't like about LibreWolf is that I haven't been able to set dark themes/modes as easily. But I'll get there.

Anyway, these are some extensions I'll shill (I have a section on my site for all of them):

Vim Vixen: If you're part of the Vim cult, you start to want every program to have its convenient hotkeys. Enter Vim Vixen for web browsers! Honestly, some of the features are a little inconvenient or strange (I prefer to Ctrl+t over its new tab hotkey). But stuff like immediately jumping to the top/bottom of a page and moving tabs with hotkeys is nice. Sure, a lot of these hotkeys already exist in browsers, but if you're already used to Vim it can be smoother to tab over to your browser and interact with it in the same way. Anything to save you from... gasp... having to use the mouse! (THE HORROR!)

Yomitan: Automatically looks up words in Japanese (or other languages). Sometimes gets in the way when trying to highlight with Shift, but can be easily disabled so it's fine.

Redirector: Redirects certain sites to others. I don't use it for anything at the moment, but it can be good to redirect YouTube to Invidious or just to block certain websites if you're trying to wean yourself off of them.

Linkificator: Converts text URLs to standard clickable ones. Just a simple save.

ClearURLs: Removes tracking elements from URLs.

LocalCDN: Uses local resources to enhance privacy.

some like uBlockOrigin, SponsorBlock, Return YouTube Dislike, etc. go without saying!

uMatrix is the most hardcore add-on for privacy where you basically begin in the most intensely hardened mode possible and slowly allow more. But I haven't gotten to the level where I can use it effectively yet.

waterfox cause it just works (its firefox except you get better UI no AI and stuff like jpeg-xl enabled by default and you can actually set a custom page as the new tab page)

uBlock, Youtube No Translation (forces og titles on youtube), NoPoW (bypasses retarded "antibot" tranny software), Stylus (custom CSS, use it to force border-radius: 0; on youtube), Tampermonkey (custom JS scripts, mostly for 4chan-X), Yomitan Dictionnary (chink dictionary), Video Download Helper (can download vids from almost all websites (as long as no DRM, DRM are disabled on my browser anyway))

i don't use librewolf anymore cause the schizo security features are too schizo and overkill, a lot of librewolf users don't even know how those features work and because of that this happens :

I use Links2 and BadWolf for most things. ungoogled-chromium too if it is necessary.

I use uMatrix, Decentraleyes, LibRedirect, Vimium, Chromium Web Store for ungoogled-chromium.

I only use adblocks if available, I don't wanna tie myself to any specific browser by "customizing" it, plus a lot of times I use browsers that can't do any extensions such as badwolf or lynx. My strategy is to rather curate which sites I visit so that I don't have to "protect" myself against getting fucked in the ass, and/or I rely on services and server side scripts (often my own small PHP scripts on my home server or literally just localhost) to fetch and preprocess ugly pages to plain HTML or whatever. Extension customization is just another form of ricing.

I'm curious, what uses do you have for TamperMonkey and ViolentMonkey? The idea is cool but, similar to Stylus, I don't see much point of constantly modifying websites on my own when I could just use better websites. Though perhaps there could be some good niche cases. Can you talk more about what your scripts do?

This seems better than Vim Vixen. I might have to give it a shot.

I just use tridactyl for my vim extention on Librewolf, while I use vimium for Brave. I have yomitan and redirector set up for both. I'd prefer to just use one browser of course, but currently most of my uses are working properly on brave whilst i need to set it up for librewolf and stuff so i have both currently.

About the number of browsers to use, I recommend to use multiple browsers for each complexity level. For subsidiarity. It might seem wasteful but it is not.

In my case I don't use BadWolf if I can use Links2 for it. And I don't use ungoogled-chromium if I can use BadWolf for it.
