Hi, I'm going to test my streaming software on my site in 30 minutes (01:00 UTC).
JOIN HERE AT THE TIME AND TELL ME IF IT'S WORKING OR NOT
You can click the link at the top and try the browser notification button to know when I go live. Otherwise, I'll post in here when I do to let people know. You can subscribe via RSS if you want. I want to eventually have a Matrix server or XMPP MUC or something like that hosted to automatically let people know. Maybe a text on the main page of the site which turns green when I'm live? Need to do some more research to get those set up!
And uh, anyone else who wants to do the same can post in this thread. But I don't know who else is using OwnCast (but you should be!).

When I tried accessing the stream, I got this in the embed.
Be careful. Something doesn’t look right.
Firefox spotted a potentially serious security issue with live.pantsuprophet.xyz. Someone pretending to be the site could try to steal things like credit card info, passwords, or emails.
Advanced
What makes the site look dangerous?
The site is set up to allow only secure connections, but there’s a problem with the site’s certificate. It’s possible that a bad actor is trying to impersonate the site. Sites use certificates issued by a certificate authority to prove they’re really who they say they are. Firefox doesn’t trust this site because its certificate isn’t valid for live.pantsuprophet.xyz. The certificate is only valid for: forums.pantsuprophet.xyz, muc.pantsuprophet.xyz, pantsuprophet.xyz, proxy.pantsuprophet.xyz, share.pantsuprophet.xyz, videos.pantsuprophet.xyz.
What can you do about it?
Probably nothing, since it’s likely there’s a problem with the site itself. Sites use certificates issued by a certificate authority to prove they’re really who they say they are. But if you’re on a corporate network, your support team may have more info. If you’re using antivirus software, try searching for potential conflicts or known issues.

Hmmm, strange. I'll have to look into it. Thanks for letting me know.

I have a text on the main page of my site (
https://pantsuprophet.xyz/) now that tells you if I'm live or not (right now it's under the CyTube countdown). I generated it with ChatGPT so I can't tell you if it won't eventually run into problems. I normally hate relying on an AI to help me with something like this, but I was up a dead end and considered it a pretty essential thing to have, so I made an exception. But I do think it's important to be transparent and disclose whatever wasn't created by "hand" on my site. There's some debate about how different it really is from just finding a code on Stack Overflow and pasting that in (which, who knows, might have been AI-generated on that user's end!). But for me at least it was a first so I think it's important to be clear about it.
Anyway, I won't be manually updating this thread as long as that icon works adequately. I'll know for sure next time I stream. If I'm streaming, it will probably be weekends between 18:00-06:00 UTC and weekdays between 23:00-06:00 UTC.

Remove the need for a CORS proxy, I feel like this would help:
