Gamedev and Modding

For those who love making games and making things for games! I've got a bunch of projects under my belt, admittedly too many, but I'll start it simple with a Freedoom mod I've been working on recently; Attack of the Trilobites. There's
a WAD in blitzstuff but I haven't updated it yet so as to not rape the Git repo with binary file changes, so I'll simply share some screenshots I took.

I have a 4th screenshot I couldn't upload because of the attachment limit. :p
While I'm here, I may as well give a fun fact; MAP01 was actually first made as a Terry WAD, for a "libre Terry WAD" project. I then decided that was just stupid because ZDoom is too bloated, and I just turned MAP01 into a vanilla level and built an actual WAD off of that.

It saddens me that while there are so many excellent libre game engines, there are very few finished game data projects. I am very interested in your mod UptownRascal, please update on your progress.
I briefly played with Doom modding as well, but haven't gotten too far. My aim was to recreate (and improve) Anarch in the Doom engine (and of course license it all under CC0). The project is
here. Here's a screenshot
For people who aren't as familiar with libre games, here is a list of some amazing engines that could use some free as in freedom content:
- OpenMW: Libre engine for Morrowind! Now already considered better than the vanilla engine. It comes with a world editor also, though I'm not sure how usable it is (I know a few years ago it was already somewhat usable).
- FLARE: 2D RPG engine for Diablo-like games. Already has an official libre campaign, but more can never hurt. It's fair to say the engine is singleplayer only but hey, that's how most people play these games anyway.
- Chocolate Doom, Crispy Doom, Vavoom, ...: Doom engines for the original 90s Doom, many of which can actually also run other Doom engine games like Heretic and Strife. There already exists playable, high effort libre content for Doom engine: Freedoom. Doom modding is big so there are many tools and tutorials, and it's possible to borrow Freedoom assets if you don't want to make your own textures and stuff.
- Minetest/Luanti: Minecraft-like engine, 2000% better than Minecraft, extremely moddable, efficient, already has tons of mods and games.
- DarkPlaces, Xonotic, OpenArena and other Quake engines: Engines for the classic old Quake games and arena shooters. There is libre quality content for competitive AFPS (Xonotic and OpenArena) and one undergoing project for libre Quake 1 campaign replacement, namely LibreQuake, however it's woke so I wouldn't be mad if someone made another one

These are just the ones I know of.
By the way I'd be up for a collaboration on some kind of game/mod with this forum, although I say upfront I do NOT want to lead the project, I just wanna be a silent, humble & independent contributor.

Yes, yes it is.
Also, I've updated Attack of the Trilobites, there's a playable and completable MAP02 now! Though there's too much GRAY1 for my liking, and there's also probably a few other issues I have to iron out of it. Feel free to playtest! Get it
here.
