I wrote two poems that I think are a good start for anyone who desires to learn about Jainism
There are seperatelty called "God Teacher" and "Echoes of Salvation"
God Teacher
It is foolish before You to think this boundless world has been created by You knowing the sum of all atoms cannot contain Your bliss nor the sum of all atoms chain You to hell nor heaven, the thought of Your breath compels me to light of all life that burns hotter than 10 suns and yet the radiance a Nirgatha like You by Truth cannot be contained by a jacket of stars nor is it desirable to You.

Thus I bow to the Lord of the uncreated to cleanse myself of the pot of earth that I hold in my heart knowing that You are only the creator of of a this Pot of Bliss of which Your Sangha swims, the LokALoka is Yours in Knowledge and the LokAloka is Yours to reject,by Your Essence I bow to Your in this world full of echoes shaped like You,me the birds and trees.

O Teacher, the life of this dream is not a dream nor is the dream of perishing it capable of expelling me from Your Glory. Thus O grader of Virtues and and Destroyer of none, under the canopy of Siddha-Silla I have mocked this death sentence from birth seeing it's grammar is broken and it's prosody is flawed, and by You I have been given the persistence to endure it in a lecture whose breadth measures 3 words(O Occams razor pales by the demerit of it's words compared the the sharpness of Your Soul, what needed to be said beyond Jai Jinendra!)

If I am alien to monks then I surrender myself to the Darshan of You,as many men have come before gods to leave with the drunkenness of Mercy and glory of a godly archer, but seldom have they imbued Your Teachings with the clarity of water and the allure of a Harp strung by Shriis, but indeed, nothing is desirable to the antipode of You knowing that water can be purified and the wood of a bow can be turned to a harp!

But I bow before You O Teacher, this classroom has become very empty and the students are gone save for me and a few others. I bow before You O Teacher,if Your bald head sweats at the radiance of the sun then I am compelled to think of you like a Temple of goldfish of which bacteria swim. For this world Your eyes have closed as has Your desire for rebirth and like the stones of your idols we swim firm in Faith,I bow to You as I pray for the garlands of Faith to my be placed firmly on my shoulders,an ant like me cannot comprehend the Absoluteness of Your Knowledge in the life nor can I consume it all beyond a few shots of the Essence

Indeed my Lords in Siddha Silla,Your Service has been for us and Your Blessings are spoken in our hearts like paper,as before I confess that my Soul has been made like paper and before You I think that a lovely song cannot persist without paper to write it on,nor can a man persist in Salvation without a Soul to know it's beauty(Indeed O Perfect Teacher!)

Thus tonight I leave the sight of You so that someday You may watch me imbue beautiful teachings of which You have taught, thus no more words of mine are befitting to express Your glory nor can I say it is befitting to lay forever at Your feet,I will leave this classroom for the last time someday so that You may see me with Glory O Lords! Such is the only beauty of an eternal Soul

Echoes of Salvation
-Your Knowledge has us and Your Compassion engulfs us,if Your lips spanned across the sky to speak to us,the words spoken by them would be heard by our Souls
- But when I pray to You in a place that is beyond words You can never hear them with ears nor could You O formless Lords,my voice would recoil off the top of heaven to land back on me,Your all-sight is glorious and Your Knowledge humbles me!
- I pray my compassion is granted by the echoes of prayers, that it will at the very least cover the surface of the ocean floor ,and like You I hope it will cover the ocean of existence too. The LokAloka is forever Yours' in compassion
- If You have prayed Your echoes have saved many,Your exertion has saved many, and O God,my compassion will engulf us all and only when my sight sees it my prayer is over
- All else is commentary,Jai Jinendra!

Blushing at your username @Drummys_fan_nroot, thank you for being a Jain :orz: I am sorry I haven't so far put much effort to study much about Jainism and other similar ways of life such as Buddhism but I feel like nonviolence is the highest virtue, I feel utmost admiration towards people who practice Jainism. I don't even know very well, and please forgive my stupid question, what the relation of Jainism and Buddhism is? Is there any conflict between the two or are they just a different manifestations or "dialect" of the same ideas?

drummyfish thanks for existing, you are sadly probably more smart/better than about 100% of non-Jains so that is good(but because most people are stupid I say sadly).

Bhuddism and Jainism?
I do not know what Bhuddism teaches,in the eariest layer of our Literature it seems Bhuddists were not good at non-violence as much as we were,I do not know or care about their Doctrine beyond that as the Souls of TriLoka are those who need morality the most(not God),thus laxity in not-killing things is not moral and my honest opinion is Bhuddism is a watered down version of pre-Mahavira Jainism which focuses on Doctrine(as it relates to humans/not all-Souls,thus it cannot be optimal) and seems to be written more poetically and not systemically(Tattvarth Sutra is not a "fun" read,it is like a systemic exposition on Doctrine).

Also Bhuddism does not claim to really say anything about the natural world, thus(as a Jain) I do not think the Bhuddist guy knew about how Souls interact with the world around them and probably re-intepreted karma to be a moral force and not a real one,I do not know or care much beyond that.

I have not talked to any real(?) bhuddists, only new age white people who eat meat. We dont have this problem nor do we want it(as only intellegent people would understand Jainism)

Not Knowing Jainism well
My personal opinion is that anything after Akarnaga Sutrais not realistically attributable to anything acedemaically valid, but that is ok as I only believe in the Essence of Doctrine(Samaysaar 390 says that scirpture does not know anything and thus is not knowledge and goes to say sounds have no knowledge, thus we only belive in the Essence of Doctrine in scirptures while the Absoluteness of Doctrine rests with the Souls who attrain Omniscience thus people who dont think are not worthy of talking about God).

My reccomended reading order for Jainism: You can read this on the side for Stories of the Tirhankars,I do not take Trishashti Shalaka Purusha Caritra as cannon but it serves as a good overview of the stories of the Tirhankars https://www.wisdomlib.org/jainism/book/ ... ha-caritra. God cannot save you only that the blessing of God is that we have imbued their Doctrine.

I'm not the other user in this thread, so you should not take my statements as authoritative, but one of the biggest difference is that Jains affirm the existence of a plurality of souls, not believing that humans lack egos (like in Buddhism) or that souls are one with the eternal Brahman (like in Hinduism). One of the things about Jainism I think is most interesting is that Jains believe that karma is a physical substance or form of matter. The soul essentially adheres this "sticky" negative karmic "matter" to it and that is what keeps it non-liberated. At least this is what I remember from the bit of time I spent studying it. Perhaps our friend here can enlighten us some more.

Their notion of the Jain time cycle on Wikipedia is an interesting read. It rotates throughout periods of greater happiness or suffering with almost unimaginably long lengths and people have longer/shorter lifespans and physical heights associated with them (ranging from a maximum of half a meter tall and 20 years old to a maximum of almost 10000 meters tall and something like 10^214 years old). Certainly this is ancillary to the more important things about Jainism, but it's something I remember finding fascinating.

Reharding Karma

Karma is real imo as it is how we interact with it,I define it like this in summaty(logic will follow shortly):
My short explanation:
1. The Soul only entails Knowledge/Bliss and it is Innate nature is shared across all things(nothing without knowledge can feel)
2. Knowledge exists(as you are seeing this) thus it is part of reality probably like time or space, thus like motion/rest we interact or dont interact with the world around
Long explanation sort of:
  • We exist as we can see that, even if we are a scitozphrenic we have knowledge, therefore Knowledge(Soul) is exists
  • KARMA is bound to matter, its like a magnent to the Soul. No matter no senses, but in an uncreated world our Souls are always somewhere,in bacteria/asleep or in Siddha-Silla maybe.,NOTE the mind itself is matter, you cant fit a human mind in an ant,an omniscient potato would be strange
  • Karma is not knowledge, therefore rejection it is wise,to know all things are taken from others. If you must sin you would at least learn from it hopefully
  • Then, because Karma is not knowledge but knowledge encompases karma and matter, the Soul's bondage to Karma makes it bound to earth and the bondage itself consitutes the senses of the flesh whereas the Knowledege of God encaompases all without senses, thus God are Liberated from bondage as Pure Souls, they do not act.
  • Thus stickyness(attrachment to karma) is sinful as we know all worldly pleasures are taken from others, thus Formless God(the Liberated Sous AKA the Siddhas) do not act, thus if the Siddhas acted they could not be God due to being bound to sin, thus God cannot be a doer due to freedom from bondage. A Soul does not create matter by thnking it into existence thus a Perfect Soul only indulges in meaning and non-violence(as life is sacred to all),a Soul attrains Godhood upholding the truth of pain and imbueing of pleasure of the Soul itself and Knowledge thus cannot be entangled in existence
Regarding time/cosmology
I believe that the descriptions of Risbha Lord are reasonably not allegorical in anyway as I belive that the universe is big,I beleive the changes in formation and our literature describes Jampudvipa as rings so I believe earth is like a drop in a big word that is largely flat so we could be rotating like the universe.

My opinion on cycles is formation and reformation, time is an abstraction to God so I dont know nor will I claim to know. My personal opinion is that our universe has probably has true entropy so that bubbles(universes*) could randomly appear in th matter(the ocean of univeses),so imagine like a lake with random explosions(forever is a long time). I do not know if this(universe*) breaths(form in/out) or that the universe is formed randomly into order,I do not belive in a creator. in our cosomology there is Loka/Aloka(space/non-space). I wonder what is outside of the universe,I dont know but it seems the galaxies are moving apart and we cant see forever into space, its a strange universe(s?). Does that mean this ocean has a limit or somthing, idk. What if there are multiple oceans? Hell sounds like getting stuck in a alien computer with with a hex editor in chinese or somthing with demons chasing you. Its a ball of worms that you probably dont want to be in so you should act for others without a sense of Self.

I wrote this poem,I want to write an poem-narrative story with loosely connected(by theme) poems.

This is about Bahubali standing on an rock(the rock looked like an elephant) and being told be Risabha Lord that he was doing it wrong. The moral is if we persist in pride for so long we forget our battle and that God knows we dont listen to what we want to hear maybe, but rather it is sometimes better to tell a man in his own langauge. To out-troll a troll so to speak.

# 1000-fold Exile,O Bahubali I call upon Your name!
- The tavern of drunken holiness is emptied by those who demand a reason for it and moshpit of sinners is made empty by the light of Your joy thus endowed with bliss I let the sound of Your name flow from my lips,O Bahubali give me 1 good reason why Your pride has not turned You into the Pinnacle of Penance. Hmmm.... Does the stupidity of those drunk with faith not multiply like a mustard seed knowing they are gleefully blind. Indeed the bubbles of Your penance have roasted the perversity of sinners, into this pot I have placed 1000 rocks for a meal that pleases more than 1000 Souls
- Oh,the cooking of this potion not made me high like an elephant with the rationality of a thinking man,Oh and how has this big body of mine not made made my stomach growl for the taste of conquered sins? I must sniff the the feet of the sinful flock around me with the vigor of an octopus and perhaps joyously with the fierceness holding a ruler, seeking not vegence but reason for this madness of which there seems to be none,it is all a swamp of lunatics who mock the death under their feet and whose stench is hardly befitting to contain their Souls of which In truthfully cherish,as without Souls there is no chest of which the wealth of life may be stored nor could there be a stupidity of which we can learn
- And before You O Bahubali I think of my fingers at your feet like the nectar of Doctrine as my heart is now fuzzy like the hairy bees who consume it,and by inhaling the Darshan of Your holiness I think that if I was a elephant my proboscis would would be held tight around Your legs as I would be relieved by Your penance, and if I was a bull I would be blessed to by the hair of Your pillar-like legs as they would be like a scratching post, but if I uphold my birth as a man I will envy the purity of Your Karotosarga as Your ears were most opened and exceedingly blessed by the voice of the Dharmic Bull Risabha whose holy hair has made us bald,my heart melts for You who purified the tears of those who hold You in their hearts,O anger less Ones,if I have fled from my Soul like a woman at night let me bow before You as I extol You on the way home,do not let me cry that my life has been dyed in misery or that or that my life has been a curse, even the bristles of a hairy mouse forbid me from thinking its all wrong in this world of wrongs but rather the sacred bristles of a broom have convinced me that life is right and life is a right to all. If You have wronged me in the past as an elephant then the slime of sin has been squeezed out of me like a sponge. But in Truth You are the Pinnacle Light of Penance,You shine over us while we do penance in a world baptized in blood
- O Lords! Do the rays of Your beauty deflect off of my face,if so melt me with Your radiance of I wish to imbue as the clarity to see all colors has made Your God and your shedding of Karmas has made it clear to us,the expanse of Your knowledge has made the ropes of sin unappealing in the ocean of Your beauty, let Truth live in my heart as it fills Your Knowledge so that my Faith may be clear
- If punishment is granted it is for my Liberation and if mercy is granted it is for my Liberation as I have taken refuge in the 3 jewels held by Saints, please do not force me to be a beggar at the feet of Lakshmi for millions of years, the sanctity of life is worth more than to all Souls in existence than even 1000s of unintelligent golden coins with the capability of rocks, thus the desire for Liberation sits rests in my heart,it's sanctity exceeds the beauty of a red rose and unlike the rose the Liberated have no thorns yet the Epitome of all beauty is theirs

Here is a poem I wrote!

Endless Decay(don't play outside)

There is no shelter nor deva than can save us from death, neither here nor there can save us from death, and before You our prayers for a sinking life will be ultimately ignored ,but by the grace of Your Dharma it is not fruitless. Beauty is found in You and thus compelled by beauty I extol You.

The world is a playground that offers no shelter to many yet sometimes I am compelled to say it is a home,I will die or die. All walls exist to be destroyed and take new forms,my death is a promise but meaning is never promised. Thank You O God,neither here nor there I bear am able to bear it,Your beauty is my refuge and our refuge, none is greater than You. May I discard these ties as only the beauty of life remains to be held. Before You O God,may my exertion towards decay be for beauty.

This is about Lord Parsvha who stood in a river while he mercy for a snake. The Devas put a flower under his feet.

If sin feels like a mother, you cant see her blush when everything is green like Parsvha. The celestial nymps cannot outwit the allure of Tirhankars. Perhaps this mother of sin is like a nagging girlfreind who will force you to marry her,you can forgive her but to keep her tame is another issue.

The "mother of sin" is symbolic here,it represents how sin seems to know us but we know that we know her wickedness as well.

Writtin in markdown:

## Green World
- O Parshva Lord,Your Knowledge holds my previous births that would seem to be like a pillar of roses that rest under my feet like an endless abyss, but the thought of You makes me believe that my days in the ocean will end. Distance from You has made this world hellish and closeness to love has made it a ball of worms, being alien to reason has made it like the seaweed of hell.
- The whirlwinds torment us here,You are our grace,a woman only lays her fists on those in the reach of her saree,O Parshva, how do You expell this mother of sin before us,does pain truly flee when she becomes bored, her grasp is tight and her thorn-like hairs are sharp and her dress is died with many colors, the roses in her hair are fail to contain the pain hidden in dress.
- Lord Parsvha, how can You forgive a man of his pains when You hold no anger, yet like a hero You endure it,Your Knowledge has the best Doctrine and Your Knowledge towers over us like a beautiful flower whose pedals watch over our world,it's pedals are beautiful as are those who sit on them,if my affection for You has made me light-headed perhaps I'll float towards it's pretty scent
- You are the Lord of this Lake, who knows the floods more than You,who is more knowledgeable on the mercy of devas more than You,may my legs stand as pillars like Yours
- If I have found myself in a flood let me carry snakes on my shoulders, the chilling touch of death cannot contain me forever nor can Your house be truly dark as the hope of Your light has shines within it,Your greatness reflects on our skin like the color of the ocean, the blushes of nymphs fail to be seen in a world of full of green
- All that exists floats and sinks in Your knowledge just but unlike Your knowledge the ocean cannot contain me forever
- Your beauty illuminates our Souls in this green world
- Fawns men and devas visit this lake, even sinful mothers too,it feels great to be cooled by You
- The thought of You has brought comfort to the touch of cool water
- Frogs, men, devas, snakes and seaweed swim here, but Ill sit on the shore someday
- I honor You as the Lord of the Lake, may I sit on the shore till I pass
