Computer Screenshots

If you have any animanga or adjacent themed desktop, applications, websites, wallpapers, and other digital spaces, post them here!

Here's a NERV Evangelion themed desktop rice I cooked up yesterday, featuring dwm, st, and ani-cli.

To be honest my desktop is pretty boring, I'm not much of a ricer but it was nice to beautify the terminal using a real crisp bitmap font like Gallant instead of just using antialiased outline fonts for everything.

That's fucking sick!!! I didn't know you could do stuff like this. I'm definitely far beyond this in my "ricing" abilities. Whenever I want to make my desktop look pretty I'm always torn back to doing stuff for my website so it's something at least someone else can enjoy. Though I hope to add some tutorials and guides on my site for some of those things. You could probably teach me a thing or two. ^^

This is my desktop. It's dwm + dwmblocks and I haven't done much with it other than a few patches. The wallpaper is a slideshow of a bunch of Arcana Heart 3 wallpapers that randomly changes. Writing the script to do that is about the extent of my programming experience. :D

Eventually I would like to edit the top area to have fancier dates with Japanese style years, cycles of the moon and cool astrological stuff, and the like. My ultimate dream is to change my cursor to a gohei and make the desktop look more like a shrine. But I even have trouble changing my terminal font, so I'm a way off.

This one was very simple actually. You mostly just had to know how to configure fastfetch, adding a custom ascii (or image if you're on a terminal that supports images like kitty) and fiddling with the config files. I mainly copied it off from someone on twitter, who shared the NERV ascii and some fastfetch config code. The rest is picking up color schemes for your WM and terminal emulator. I mostly copied colors and took ideas from this person!

The main problem with this rice is it having too much contrast. It would be nice if I figured out how to turn off my borders LOL. But I think I'll try out a different theme. Thinking of doing one for Lobotomy Corporation, since UI wise it is very simple with just blocks and shapes and flat colors, and also because it is very much tied to the Kabbalah which I'm using as design convention. Borrowing from symbolic systems like this also helps one think of more interesting ways to design their own systems. :D

Is Windows allowed?
I'll just go ahead and post my desktop from a couple years ago before I finally installed Windows 10 because it looks pretty boring right now and there's not a shit ton of random funny shortcuts like there used to be

Nice. While there's not really a need to have desktop icons in my GNU/Linux system, I've always had a soft spot for this "cluttered" look with a lot of desktop icons for different weird games and programs and whatnot. Kind of reminds me of a computer equivalent of the "itabeya" aesthetic.

I haven't changed my desktop's wallpaper or core arrangement in quite a long time, happy with how this looks.

Are those Mion/Shion sprites one of those Japanese desktop friends? Like Bonzi Buddy but not malware? I forget what you call them. That's adorable though. I love it! Great to see another Psi+ user too. It's my preferred XMPP client if I'm not on Linux (otherwise Profanity all the way for the true terminal experience baby!).

They're ukagakas, yes. I found them on an old blog page, it is a goldmine for stuff like this. Got the Arcueid Rainmeter skin from the same place too. Psi+ definitely has the best interface of the XMPP clients I've used, very nice program.
