reading detective conan. do they completely stop with the americanization of the names past the end of the old english dub? i'm not usually bothered by americanization in kid's animanga, but the transition from 新一 to JIMMY is irritating me it's funny how they don't even bother with side characters because there's so many of them

I started reading High Score Girl on the request of the poll I made about which manga I should read next. So far, it seems very appealing to someone like me who loves arcade games. I like the art very much. I haven't read any manga in some time so it's good to catch up again. It's funnier than I expected too. I knew a lot of the early arcade scene in Japan was full of delinquents, but there's some great scenes of the pure chaos of it! The things we lose with the family-friendly-fication of everything...
